Managed VPS hosting is the ideal solution for both non-technical but also technically savvy people since the hosting provider takes care of any technical tasks related to the server. In other words the web hosting provider is responsible for managing the server including system upgrades and configuration and your job is to do what you are supposed to do i.e. run your website or online business.

Our VPS Hosting plans all come with a high availability feature that essentially takes your VPS container, and empowers it with a cloud infrastructure. How does this work? We put a premium on your server's uptime, so we created an infrastructure of redundant hardware clusters that provides your partition with real-time redundancy. If for some reason there is an error on your server, there is another server in the cluster with that backup information ready to spin up. We utilize Virtuozzo, a virtualization solution built on top of OpenVZ.
We pride ourselves on giving you the tools that help your business grow and keep your website online. That's why we developed and expanded our snapshots. We now offer two types of snapshots: Live-State and Scheduled. While both provide you with the convenience of easily creating an identical copy of your VPS partition, Live-State Snapshots are meant to be used on-demand while Scheduled Snapshots can be set to capture a snapshot up to once a day. Use snapshots to create an exact copy in real time, or on an ongoing basis, to revert to should anything unexpected happen when trying to make changes in a development environment.
Which VPS hosting plan to choose between a managed VPS and unmanaged VPS? Generally speaking, unmanaged VPS hosting is less expensive than managed VPS hosting when you compare plans that have the same allocated resources. One of the main reason is that your hosting provider offers less support on unmanaged VPS, thus they charge less for the service. If you are well-versed in VPS hosting and you have a lot of time planed for the VPS server, you can go for a unmanaged VPS. Otherwise, you should get a managed VPS. Some of the tech issues you may need to know if you choose unmanaged VPS include but not limited to: VPS security, software update and patching, LAMP server configuration (linux, apache, mysq, php), DNS configuration, control panel setup, SSL certificates creation, website setup, server backup, etc.

It is very rare for a customer to exceed normal usage while managing a website. Typically, customers only experience issues if they use their accounts for storage (for example large multimedia files) or file sharing. Our hosting services are not intended to support these activities, and in accordance with our Terms of Service your disk space and bandwidth usage must be integrated into the normal operation of a website. We offer various plans that better address high bandwidth and large storage requirements. Please contact us for details.

A key aspect of VPS internet hosting is its virtualization capabilities. With VPS, the hosting provider divides each physical server into multiple smaller virtual servers with private and dedicated RAM and hard drive space. This provides site owners with a more isolated hosting environment without disruptions from other clients sharing server space.
A VPS Server is the reasonable web hosting choice for your domains when more system resources are needed. VPS takes of the virtualization technologies to partition physical servers into several virtual machines. Virtual Private Server Hosting is the future of modern hosting as it provides the power and functionality of a high-end dedicated server but at a much lower price. Main virtualization technologies used including Vmware, OpenVZ and XEN etc. By purchasing a VPS hosting package, you get a 100% individual machine with your own dedicated CPU and RAM, and mostly root access to the hosting server. Once you register your website's domain name, it's time to start picking the specs for your server. Web hosts typically offer multiple VPS plans that have varying amounts of email capability, RAM, storage, CPU power, domain hosting, and monthly data transfers. The plans typically include website builders that let you quickly create a face for your site without much—or even any—coding required. A solid web host should offer at least 4GB of RAM, 100GB of storage, and an ample volume of monthly data transfers. If you expect a significant amount of website growth, then you should look for a web host that has as many unlimited offerings as possible. For example, Hostwinds—the PCMag Editors' Choice for VPS hosting—offers unlimited email, domains, and monthly data transfers. Note, however, that as with all unlimited service offerings, you really need to read the fine print to make sure that what you mean by unlimited and what the hosting service means by it.

Many hosts offer the choice of a managed VPS, and can take care of most of the work for you.

It’s recommended that you do not statically assign the private IP assigned to the Azure virtual machine within the operating system of a VM, unless necessary, such as when assigning multiple IP addresses to a Windows VM. If you do manually set the private IP address within the operating system, ensure that it is the same address as the private IP address assigned to the Azure network interface, or you can lose connectivity to the virtual machine. Learn more about private IP address settings. You should never manually assign the public IP address assigned to an Azure virtual machine within the virtual machine's operating system.

VPS can be a perfect solution for businesses that want many of the features of a dedicated server but don't have the resources to physically host, support and maintain the server hardware. A shared environment won't offer you the same bandwidth or Web hosting space that a VPS will be able to support and there are also many more constraints on the software you can run in a shared hosting environment. In contrast, a VPS will give you the freedom to install, delete, reboot and do all the functions as if you have your own server. You also get an increased level of security as each VPS is isolated and completely separate from other Virtual Private Servers on the same physical server. The environment is secure and protected and each VPS can be rebooted or stopped independently – even if a hacker infiltrates one VPS there is no access to the others using the same physical server.

Most people are clueless about the virtual servers hosting and how they actually work on the shared environment. It is a known fact that thousand and more number of users tend to use a server at a time. In such circumstances, each user is allocated with a designated amount of disk space, bandwidth, CPU allocation, memory and Operating System, which can be used on the server. All the Virtual Private Server users share the same CPU and RAM and think that, they have dedicated set of hardware. Virtual Server software is loaded onto the physical system and from then, a virtual server is ready to be used.
The force driving server virtualization is similar to that which led to the development of time-sharing and multiprogramming in the past. Although the resources are still shared, as under the time-sharing model, virtualization provides a higher level of security, dependent on the type of virtualization used, as the individual virtual servers are mostly isolated from each other and may run their own full-fledged operating system which can be independently rebooted as a virtual instance.
